The Pragmatic, featuring RAC's Andre' Allen Anjos, released their debut single "Circles" today. The St. Louis-based synthpop five-piece is rounded out by Karl Kling, Jon Goldstein, Liz Anjos and Jeremiah Clark. The single is accompanied by eight remixes and all versions of the track are available for free via the band's website www.thepragmatic.com
Anjos has made a name for himself over the past year with RAC, a collective he started and helms. RAC has done remixes for The Shins, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Tegan and Sara, Chromeo, Tokyo Police Club and many more. The mixes regularly rank among the most popular at Hype Machine and Brooklyn Vegan has gone so far as to post 26 of his remixes in one entry (on December 26th). Stereogum released an exclusive session this past summer called RAC Volume One. In addition, he's recently had several pieces of original music placed in HBO's Entourage and is continuing to expand into different realms via his remixing, production and songwriting. The Pragmatic will make their New York debut this month at CMJ, playing Pianos on October 22nd and you can catch Anjos spinning at The Knitting Factory on the 21st for the Stunt Company annual Homespun showcase.
