Junkie Xl Gramy Nomination

2008 has been an incredible year for JUNKIE XL (aka Tom Holkenborg). Since the release of Booming Back At You (Artwerk Music), his fifth studio album earlier this year, the Venice, CA-based producer, composer and performer has appeared at Ultra Music Festival, SXSW, Coachella and Pemberton; graced the covers of Electronic Musician, DJ Times and LA City Beat; and now has been nominated for his first GRAMMY Award.

The dance floor maven was selected in the "Best Remixed Recording (Non-Classical)" category for his Junkie XL remix of Madonna featuring Justin Timberlake's "4 Minutes." The song appeared on her chart-topping album Hard Candy. His 'Junkie XL dirty dub' appears on the "4 Minutes" single package. Check out the song via www.myspace.com/junkiexl .

Meanwhile, JUNKIE XL is currently in the studio working on his next project, composing the score for the summer 2009 feature film Bandslam, written and directed by Todd Graff. The film - centered on a high school outcast and a popular girl who form an unlikely bond through their shared love of music - stars Alyson Michakla, Vanessa Hudgens, and newcomer Gaelen Connell, along with a cameo from David Bowie. He also continues to lend his creative juices to the video game world as an exclusive remixer for Electronic Arts' remix album for their Mirror's Edge title available now. Holkenborg joins an elite roster of electronic producers to remix the title track "Still Alive" performed by Swedish rock/pop star Lisa Miskovsky.
