Hot Chick
Ok, I am going to cut straight to the point with this weeks post, I haven't been able to put too much thought into my post for this week because I have been too preoccupied trying to figure out who my favorite American Apparel model is. After reviewing the entire photo collection I have decided that the winner is Genny:
Hot Tracks
My two favorite tracks of the week have only one thing in common, wompy bass. The first track is a remix from one of my favorite producers and the man who introduced me to the world of Womp, Mr. Lorin Ashton, A.K.A. Bassnectar.
It was the end of the summer, 2005, and I was in one of the most beautiful locations in the Pacific Northwest, Horning's Hideout. I was there for a festival filled with heady hippy music, after the headliner finished I wandered over to a tent that was filled with strange sounds. "Womp. . .womp, whip, womp woooooomp. . . Whip!" As I entered the tent, with a head full of acid, I was transported into a magical world of fire dancers, and puppet shows, (think of this scene as you listen to the carnival sounds in the following track). . . all of the sudden I found myself on the stage, dancing harder than I ever had in my entire life. My life has quite literally not been the same since then.
Life after that night night has been filled with wompy bass and syncopated rhythms. this next song has just about everything I look for in a great track, wompy bass, hyphy vocals with a smooth hook, and a synth sample from an early nineties club banger. Before I found this track I had never heard of Tyken, ADL or Trevor Lovelys, but i will be keeping my eye out for what they release in the future.

I have to admit that Genny is my favorite too. How did you capture that image of her? I haven't figured out how to do that because of the those slideshows...slide.
